Thoughts
- Have I mentioned how much I love The Sound of Music? Cause like it has got to be one of my favorite musicals. Basic take I know. 😅
- Getting back on my Physical Media/DVD menu nostalgia. Maybe one day I'll make that shorts series covering the highlights of my collection
- Is it normal for a Kingdom Hearts fan to hear Ansem call out "Come Guardian!" in their head? I need to know... for a friend.
- It is so dumb that not only is Disclosure Day essentially a remake of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, but its also worse somehow?
- Finally completed Kingdom Hearts II. Less of an RPG than the first game, and definitely more focused on spectacle. Kinda like Mass Effect 2 when compared to Mass Effect 1
- Silent Hill (1999) has been decompiled and has an unofficial PC port. This PC port has options to turn it into a third person shooter. This RUINS the game but it is funny af.
- So Sony is sunsetting physical media for its game consoles. Just want to point out I've spent the last month playing a Sony console game on a disk released 21 years ago. Sony thinks this is wrong.
- Kingdom Hearts is about 2 things: extreme spectacle and extreme emotions. All other concerns are secondary at best.
- Somehow, I've fallen really hard for Kingdom Hearts in the past 3 months or so. This has triggered interest in jrpgs broadly. REALLY not beating the "weeb" allegations.
- Kingdom Hearts II is a really impressive game. Also, the beginning with Roxas reminded me of I Saw The TV Glow. So thats a thing.
- I used to think that I didn't have any regrets, because I was content with my life. Nope! It was because I was mildly dissociating and that felt like contentment. Not dissociating anymore? Here come the regrets!
- Well I finished Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories. Not beating the "weeb" allegations.
- Being single was a lot easier to deal with when I low-key hated myself.
- "Getting good" at videogames is overrated. Sure its fine and dandy if thats what you wanna do, but as a 30 year old...seems pretty childish
- The Death of Robin Hood (2026) is very much a modern movie aesthetically, however it feels thematically dated. Like it would have worked better in the '90s
- Rewatching Iron Lung (2026). Probably the most interesting thing about it from a filmmaking stand point is how impressionistic it is.
- Well hello there consequences of my life choices. Why do you have to suck so much sometimes?
- I lurk in r/DefendingAiArt, it is not surprising a ton of posts are just pointing at amateur art and saying it's shitty.
- I feel like we're experiencing a competency crisis at almost all levels of society.
- I find the hero worship "Gamersâ„¢" have for Gabe Newell very off putting. He is a business owner not some great savior of gaming. He will screw you over for profit.
- Strongly suspecting that HRT is making me better at videogames. Couldn't possibly be that I'm just more confident and less self-effacing.
- I am seriously, no joke, slowly becoming a Luddite.
- When will Christopher Nolan direct a Bond movie?
- I think AI feels so inhuman because humans evolved to actually *do* things, and not just ideate. Doing is satisfying.
- I just spent like a full minute staring into the mirror, grinning, practically giggling, and thinking "I'm so lucky I get to be me!"
- So apparently the TV sitcom Dinosaurs was really good!
- Apparently what it took to make me want to watch a Star Wars movie again is the combination of cute puppets and episodic storytelling.
- New blog post! This one contains a VERY important life update, but if you don't want to read the whole thing here's the important bit: I'm a woman. I'm switching to She/Her pronouns.
- Watching Speed Racer on 4k bluray feels like I'm seeing color for the first time.
- Not been seeing a lot in the way of rainbow capitalism yet. Sure it's hollow and meaningless, but its absence worries me.
- Been working on a website update that's effectively complete. No significant content, just a some layout changes and a new background image. New blog post to come tomorrow evening so look out for that. If I can hold myself to it, this update will coincide with a percipitous drop in Bsky engagement.
- I need to better organize the backend of my site. It's a *mess* trying to track down a specific day's post. I should make at *least* every year its own folder if not every month.
- What would I really lose if I cut off social media engagement entirely and focused my entire online presence on my website.🤔 It's not like my style of post gets a hell of a lot of engagement. I have some thoughts.
- Robert Pattinson plays Chris Hanson in a movie about "To Catch a Predator" was not on my bingo card but given... Ya'know... Everything I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
